ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನೊ ಡೆಯನೇ, ನನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಂಗೀ ಕಾರವಾಗಲಿ, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮನೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು

ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಮ್ಮೇಲೆಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು; ಅವರು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಹಗ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಇಳಿಸಿದರು; ಆ ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಕೆಸರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇತ್ತು; ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಕೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಣುಗಿದನು.

ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗ ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಿನ್ನಹ ಮಾಡಿದೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
