Jeremiah 21:9
ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲು ವವನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಡ್ಯ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಯುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಸೇರು ವವನು ಬದುಕುವನು;

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಅನ್ನುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ತರುವಾಯ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನೂ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಡ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನ ಕೈಗೂ ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಗೂ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರಕೈಗೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು; ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆಯುವನು. ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತಃಕರುಣೆ ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
