ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿದೆ; ಓ ಕಾನಾನೇ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶವೇ, ನಿವಾಸಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವೆನು.

ನಾನು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅವುಗಳ ಗೋಪುರಗಳು ಹಾಳಾಗಿವೆ; ಅವರ ಬೀದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅವುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಾಶವಾದವು, ಹೀಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನೂ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
