ಇಸಾಕನು ಯಾಕೋಬನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪದ್ದನ್ ಅರಾಮಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಇಸಾಕನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ
