ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ತನ್ನ ಯೋಚನೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಏರಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮಪಡಿಸಿ ಉರ್ಲುಹಾಕಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಸತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು.
