ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರೂ ಅರವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಉಪ ಪತ್ನಿಯರೂ ಇದ್ದರು; ಅವನು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಅರವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋ ಮನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಮಾಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.
