1 Samuel 31:13
ಅವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಬೇಷಿ ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟು ಏಳು ದಿವಸ ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಜನರೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ ಅತ್ತು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರು ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮನೆಯವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದರು.
