1 Samuel 11:1
ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯನಾದ ನಾಹಾಷನು ಬಂದು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯಾಬೇಷಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ದಂಡು ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಯಾಬೇಷಿನ ಜನರೆ ಲ್ಲರು ನಾಹಾಷನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬ ಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವೆವು ಅಂದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಾಹಾಷನು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲು ಬರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ--ಹಾಗೆ ಬೇಡ; ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳಬೇಕು ಅಂದಿರಿ.

ಇಗೋ, ಯಾಬೇಷ್‌ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ ಸಭೆಯು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾಬೇಷ್‌ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಚಿಕ್ಕವರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಾ, ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬಿಡಿರಿ.

Judges 11:8
ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ತಲೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದೆವು ಅಂದರು.

Judges 10:7
ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವ ರನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಗೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕೈಗೂ ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಸೇರಬಾರದು. ಹತ್ತನೇ ತಲಾಂತರವಾದರೂ ಅವರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಬಾರದು.
