ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾ ಮನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿ ಸಿದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕರ್ತನು ಶೀಲೋವಿನವನಾಗಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಅಹೀಯನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಅವನು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಶ್ವಾಸವುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಯಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದದವರು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ಮಾಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಾಪಗಳಿ ಗಿಂತ ತಾವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ರೋಷ ವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದರು.
