ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಅರ್ಧ ಮನೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕುಡಿಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

2 Kings 5:16
ಆದರೆ ಅವನುನಾನು ಯಾವಾತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತೇನೋ ಆ ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ಏನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ ನು. ಅವನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾಮಾನನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು.

ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಲೂ ಕೂಡದು, ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲೂ ಕೂಡದು; ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯು ವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Exodus 7:2
ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಆರೋನನು ಫರೋಹನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು.

ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಫರೋಹನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವರಿಗೂ ಅವರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಗಳಿಗೂ--

ಆಗ ಅವರು ಫರೋಹ ನಿಗೆ--ಇಬ್ರಿಯರ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು; ಇಲ್ಲ ವಾದರೆ ಆತನು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಲಾದರೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಹಾರ ಮಾಡಾನು ಎಂದು ಅಂದರು.
