Nehemiah 9:16
परन्तु उन्होंने और हमारे पुरखाओं ने अभिमान किया, और हठीले बने और तेरी आज्ञाएं न मानी;

| their necks, | עָרְפָּ֔ם | ʿorpām | ore-PAHM |
| and hearkened | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| not | שָֽׁמְע֖וּ | šāmĕʿû | sha-meh-OO |
| to | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| thy commandments, | מִצְוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ | miṣwōtêkā | mee-ts-oh-TAY-ha |
