जब यहोशू यरीहो के पास था तब उसने अपनी आंखें उठाई, और क्या देखा, कि हाथ में नंगी तलवार लिये हुए एक पुरूष साम्हने खड़ा है; और यहोशू ने उसके पास जा कर पूछा, क्या तू हमारी ओर का है, वा हमारे बैरियों की ओर का?
