Ezra 3:2
યોસાદાકનો પુત્ર યેશૂઆએ તેના યાજકો સાથે તથા શઆલ્તીએલનો પુત્ર ઝરુબ્બાબેલ અને તેના સાથીઓએ ઇસ્રાએલના દેવની વેદી ફરીથી બાંધી, જેથી દેવના સેવક મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે તેની પર દહનાર્પણો ચઢાવી શકાય.

દાર્યાવેશ રાજાના બીજા વર્ષના છઠ્ઠા મહિનાની પહેલી તારીખે પ્રબોધક હાગ્ગાય મારફત યહોવાનો સંદેશો આવ્યો. આ સંદેશો યહૂદાના સૂબા શઆલ્તીએલના પુત્ર, ઝરુબ્બાબેલની, તથા પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોસાદાકના પુત્ર યહોશુઆ માટે હતો.
એઝરા 2:2
તેઓમાં યેશૂઆ, નહેમ્યા, સરાયા, રએલાયા, મોર્દખાય, બિલ્શાન, મિસ્પાર, બિગ્વાય, રહૂમ, તથા બાઅનાહની ઝરુબ્બાબેલની સાથે આવ્યા.ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોની સંખ્યા:

બાબિલમાં તેઓને લઈ ગયા પછી:યખોન્યા શલથિયેલનો પિતા હતો.શલથિયેલ ઝરુંબ્બાબેલનો પિતા હતો.

પરંતુ આ બનશે ત્યારે, ઓ મારા સેવક ઝરુબ્બાબેલ, હું તને મારો અંગત મુદ્રા મહોર બનાવીશ. કારણકે મેં તને પસંદ કર્યો છે.”એમ સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવા કહે છે.
ઝખાર્યા 3:1
ત્યારબાદ દેવદૂતે મને પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોશુઆને યહોવાના દેવદૂત પાસે ઊભેલો બતાવ્યો, અને તેની જમણી બાજુએ તેના ઉપર આરોપ મૂકવા માટે શેતાન ઊભો હતો.
ઝખાર્યા 3:8
હે પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોશુઆ, તું અને તારી મદદમાં રહેનાર યાજકો, હવે સાંભળો, કારણ, તમે શું બનવાનું છે તે માટેના ઉદાહરણો છો. જુઓ, હું શાખા નામે ઓળખાતા મારા સેવકને લઇ આવીશ.

પછી તેણે મને કહ્યું, “યહોવાનો આ સંદેશ ઝરુબ્બાબેલ માટે છે, ‘બળથી કે શકિતથી નહિ પણ મારા તરફથી મળતા આત્માને કારણે તું વિજયવંત થશે.”

અને તેણે આપેલાં ચાંદી અને સોનું લઇ એક મુગટ ઘડાવી તે મુખ્યયાજક યહોસાદાકના પુત્ર યહોશુઆના માથે મૂકજે.

યહૂદાના રાજ્યપાલ ઝરુબ્બાબેલને કહે કે, “હું આકાશોને તથા પૃથ્વીને હચમચાવી નાખીશ.”

યહૂદિયાના સૂબા શઆલ્તીએલના પુત્ર ઝરુબ્બાબેલને તથા પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોસાદાકના પુત્ર યહોશુઆને તથા બાકી રહેલા લોકોને હવે કહે કે,

તમાંરે નિયત સમયે મને આગમાં બનાવેલું ખાદ્યાર્પણ ધરવું, તેની સુગંધ મને પ્રસન્ન કરે છે.” તેથી તમાંરે નીચે મુજબ અર્પણ ચઢાવવું. પ્રતિદિન તમાંરે એક વર્ષના ખોડખાંપણ વગરના બે નર હલવાનોનું દહનાર્પણ કરવું જ.
પુનર્નિયમ 12:5
યહોવા તમાંરા દેવ તમાંરા કુળસમૂહો વચ્ચે એક ખાસ જગ્યા પસંદ કરશે. યહોવા તેમનું નામ ત્યાં મૂકશે. તે તેમનું ખાસ ઘર રહેશે. તમાંરે તેની ભકિત કરવા તે જગ્યાએ જ જવાનું છે.

પણ યહૂદા કુળને તથા જેના ઉપર તે પ્રેમ કરતા હતા તે સિયોન પર્વતને તેમણે પસંદ કર્યા.
હાગ્ગાચ 1:12
ત્યારે ઝરુબ્બાબેલ અને યાજક યહોશુઆએ બાકીના લોકો સાથે મળીને તેમના દેવ યહોવાના તથા હાગ્ગાયનાં વચનો પર ધ્યાન આપ્યું. તેઓએ યહોવાની આજ્ઞાનું પાલન કર્યુ અને તેમનો ભય રાખ્યો.

ત્યારે યહોવા દેવે યહૂદાના સૂબા શઆલ્તીએલના પુત્ર ઝરુબ્બાબેલનું તથા પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોસાદાકના પુત્ર યહોશુઆનું મન, તથા બાકી રહેલા સર્વ લોકોનું મન જાગૃત કર્યું;

“માંરા માંટે તમે લોકો એક માંટીની વેદી બનાવજો, અને તેના પર તમાંરાં ઘેટાંબકરાં અને ઢોરોમાંથી મને દહનાર્પણ અને શાંત્યર્પણ ચઢાવજો. અને જે સર્વ જગાએ હું માંરું નામ સ્થાપીશ, ત્યાં હું તમાંરી પાસે આવીશ અને તમને આશીર્વાદ આપીશ.
