ત્યારબાદ યહોશુઆના માંણસો તેમની માંક્કેદાહની છાવણી પર સુરક્ષિત પાછા ફર્યા. પછી કોઈએ ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો સામે કંઈ પણ કહેવા માંટે હિમ્મત કરી નહિ.

યહોવાએ ગિબયોનના લશ્કરોને ખૂબ મૂંઝવી નાખ્યાં, તેથી ઇસ્રાએલે તેમને હરાવી દીધા. તેઓએ તેમનો પીછો બેથ-હોરોનના રસ્તા પર કર્યો અને તેમને બધાને અઝેકાહ અને માંક્કેદાહ સુધી માંરી નાખ્યા.

યહોશુઆએ તે દિવસે માંક્કેદાહ કબજે કર્યું. અને તેના લોકોને તથા રાજાને મોતને ઘાટ ઉતાર્યા. નગરના બધા માંણસોનો તેણે સંહાર કર્યો. તેણે યરીખોના રાજાના જે હાલ કર્યા હતા તે જ હાલ માંક્કેદાહના રાજાના પણ કર્યા.
