Jeremiah 38:13
યમિર્યાએ તે પ્રમાણે કર્યું. અને તેને દોરડા વડે ધાતુના ટાંકામાંથી બહાર ખેંચી કાઢયો અને પહેલા જ્યાં હતો ત્યાં રક્ષકઘરમાં મોકલી અપાયો.

જ્યારે રાજા સિદકિયાએ આજ્ઞા કરી કે, યમિર્યાને કેદમાં ન મોકલવામાં આવે, પરંતુ તેને રાજમહેલની જેલમાં રાખવામાં આવે અને નગરમાં રોટલી ખલાસ થઇ જાય ત્યાં સુધી તેને રોજ તાજી બનાવેલી રોટલી આપવામાં આવે. આમ થવાથી યમિર્યા રાજમહેલની જેલમાં રહ્યો.

અને તેમને કહો કે, ‘રાજાની એવી આજ્ઞા છે કે, આને કેદમાં પૂરી દો, અને હું સુરક્ષિત પાછો આવું ત્યાં સુધી જીવતો રહે એટલાં જ રોટલા અને પાણી સિવાય બીજું કશું આપશો નહિ.”

આથી એ લોકોએ યમિર્યાને લઇ જઇને રક્ષકઘરના પ્રાંગણમાં આવેલા રાજકુમાર માલ્ખિયાના ધાતુંના ટાંકામાં તેને ઉતાર્યો. તેઓએ તેને દોરડા વડે નીચે ઉતાર્યો. ધાતુના ટાંકામાં પાણી નહોતું, પણ ફકત કાદવ હતો અને યમિર્યા એ કાદવમાં ખૂંપી ગયો.

યરૂશાલેમને જીતી લેવામાં આવ્યું ત્યાં સુધી યમિર્યા રક્ષકઘરના ચોકમાં જ રહ્યો.

યમિર્યાને કેદખાનામાંથી કાઢી લાવવા માટે તેઓએ સૈનિકોને મોકલ્યા, યમિર્યાને ચોકીમાંથી બહાર કાઢયો, તે તેને ઘેર લઇ જવા સારું શાફાનના પુત્ર અહીકામના પુત્ર ગદાલ્યાને સ્વાધીન કર્યો; આમ તે પોતાના લોકો સાથે જ રહ્યો.

ફેલિકસે લશ્કરના અમલદારને પાઉલને રક્ષણમાં રાખવા કહ્યું. પણ તેણે અમલદારને થોડીક સ્વતંત્રતા આપવા કહ્યું. અને પાઉલના મિત્રોને પાઉલની જરુંરિયાતની વસ્તુઓ લાવી આપવાની છૂટ આપવા કહ્યું.
