2 Kings 13:7
યહોઆહાઝ પાસે કોઇ સૈન્ય નહોતું સિવાય કે 50 ઘોડેસવાર, 10 રથ અને 10,000 સૈનિકો કારણ કે અરામના રાજાએ તેના બાકીના સૈન્યનો નાશ કરી નાખ્યો હતો.

પૂર્વમાંથી આ વ્યકિતને કોણે ઊભી કરી છે, જેને પગલે પગલે વિજય મળે છે? તેને ઊભો કરનાર બીજો કોઇ નહિ પણ યહોવા પોતે જ છે. એમની તરવારથી તેઓ રજકણની જેમ વેરાઇ જાય છે. અને એનાં ધનુષ્યથી તેઓ તરણાંની જેમ ઊડી જાય છે.

ઇસ્રાએલીઓ પણ લડવા ભેગા થયા. તેઓએ બખ્તર અને બીજા હથિયારો સાથે લીધાં અને અરામીઓનો સામનો કરવા નીકળી પડયા અને તેમની સામે પડાવ નાખ્યો. ઇસ્રાએલીઓ તો બકરાનાં બે ટોળાં જેવાં લાગતા હતાં અને અરામીઓ તો સમગ્ર પ્રદેશમાં ફેલાઇ ગયા હતા.

પછી આહાબે યુવાનો કે જે પ્રાંતના આગેવાનોની સેવા કરતા હતા તેમને ભેગા કર્યા, તેઓ 232 જણા હતા, પછી આહાબે આખી ઇસ્રાએલી સેનાને હાજર થવા કહ્યું, બધાં મળીને ત્યાં 7,000 સૈનિકો હતાં.

સમગ્ર ઇસ્રાએલમાં એક પણ ઇસ્રાએલી લુહાર શોધ્યો જડતો ન હતો. કારણ, પલિસ્તીઓએ ઇસ્રાએલીઆને લોઢાની તરવાર અને ભાલા બનાવવાની કળા શીખવી હતી નહિ તેના કારણે તેઓ ઇસ્રાએલીઓથી ડરતા હતા.

ત્યારબાદ શમુએલ ગિલ્ગાલ છોડીને દૂર ગયો. બાકીનાં સૈન્યે શાઉલ સાથે ગિલ્ગાલ છોડયું. તેઓ ગિલ્ગાલથી બિન્યામીનના ગિબયાહમાં ગયા. તેણે સૈન્યમાં માંણસો ગણ્યાં ત્યાં લગલગ 600 માંણસો હતાં.

ઇસ્રાએલી સૈનિકોએ જોયું કે તેઓ ભારે સંકટમાં છે અને તેઓનું લશ્કર ભીંસમાં આવી પડયું છે, ત્યારે તેઓ ગભરાઇ ગયા અને ગુફાઓમાં, ઝાડીઓમાં, ખડકોમાં, અને કોતરોમાં તેમજ પાણીની ટાંકીઓમાં સંતાઈ જવા લાગ્યા.
