Nehemiah 7:3
મેં તેમને કહ્યું, “દિવસ ચઢે ત્યાં સુધી યરૂશાલેમના દરવાજા ખોલવા નહિ, અને જ્યારે હજી પહેરેગીરો ચોકી કરતા હોય ત્યારે તમારે દરવાજા બંધ રાખી અને દરવાજા પર કમાડ વાસી દેવા. યરૂશાલેમના વતની ઓમાંથી તમારે પહેરેગીરો નીમવા. કેટલાક ચોક્કસ જગ્યાએ ચોકીઓ સંભાળે અને બાકીના પોતાના ઘર આગળ ચોકી કરે.”

| until | יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ | yĕrûšālaim | yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM |
| the sun | עַד | ʿad | ad |
| be hot; | חֹ֣ם | ḥōm | home |
| and while | הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ | haššemeš | ha-SHEH-mesh |
| they | וְעַ֨ד | wĕʿad | veh-AD |
| stand by, | הֵ֥ם | hēm | hame |
| let them shut | עֹֽמְדִ֛ים | ʿōmĕdîm | oh-meh-DEEM |
| doors, the | יָגִ֥יפוּ | yāgîpû | ya-ɡEE-foo |
| and bar | הַדְּלָת֖וֹת | haddĕlātôt | ha-deh-la-TOTE |
| them: and appoint | וֶֽאֱחֹ֑זוּ | weʾĕḥōzû | veh-ay-HOH-zoo |
| watches | וְהַֽעֲמֵ֗יד | wĕhaʿămêd | veh-ha-uh-MADE |
| of the inhabitants | מִשְׁמְרוֹת֙ | mišmĕrôt | meesh-meh-ROTE |
| of Jerusalem, | יֹֽשְׁבֵ֣י | yōšĕbê | yoh-sheh-VAY |
| one every | יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם | yĕrûšālaim | yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM |
| in his watch, | אִ֚ישׁ | ʾîš | eesh |
| one every and | בְּמִשְׁמָר֔וֹ | bĕmišmārô | beh-meesh-ma-ROH |
| to be over against | וְאִ֖ישׁ | wĕʾîš | veh-EESH |
| his house. | נֶ֥גֶד | neged | NEH-ɡed |
