Matthew 17:9

એ માણસો માણસના દીકરાને મારી નાખશે, પરંતુ ત્રીજા દિવસે તે મરણમાંથી ઊભો થશે.” તે સાંભળી શિષ્યો ખૂબજ દુ:ખી થયા.

પણ હું તમને કહું છુ કે એલિયા આવી ચુક્યો છે. તેઓએ તેને ઓળખ્યો નહિ પણ જેમ તેઓએ ચાહ્યું તેમ તેઓએ તેને કર્યુ તેમજ માણસના દીકરાને પણ દુ:ખ સહન કરવું જ પડશે.”

ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “જે કાંઈ બન્યું છે તે વાત કોઈને પણ કરતો નહિ. અહીંથી સીધો જ યાજક પાસે જા અને ત્યાં તારી જાતને બતાવ. મૂસાના આદેશ પ્રમાણે અર્પણ ચઢાવ જેથી લોકો જાણી શકે કે તું સાજો થયો છે.”
