હેરોદ રાજાએ ઈસુ વિષે સાંભળ્યું, કારણ કે હવે ઈસુ પ્રખ્યાત થઈ ગયો હતો. કેટલાક લોકોએ કહ્યું, ‘તે (ઈસુ) બાપ્તિસ્મા કરનાર યોહાન જ છે. તે મૃત્યુમાંથી ઊઠ્યો છે. તેથી તે આવાં પરાક્રમો કરી શકે છે.’
