Leviticus 17:12
ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોને આપવામાં આવેલી આ આજ્ઞા પાછળનું કારણ એ છે કે તે લોકો કે તેઓમાં વસતો કોઈ વિદેશી લોહીનો ખોરાકમાં ઉપયોગ ન કરે.

“જે કોઈ ઇસ્રાએલી કે વિદેશી કુદરતી રીતે મૃત્યુ પામેલું અથવા જંગલી પ્રાણીઓ માંરી નાખેલું પ્રાણી ખાય તો તેણે પોતાનાં વસ્ત્રો ધોઈ નાખવાં. પાણીથી સ્નાન કરવું અને સાંજ સુધી તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય તેથી કશાને અડવું નહિ.

Deuteronomy 12:5
યહોવા તમાંરા દેવ તમાંરા કુળસમૂહો વચ્ચે એક ખાસ જગ્યા પસંદ કરશે. યહોવા તેમનું નામ ત્યાં મૂકશે. તે તેમનું ખાસ ઘર રહેશે. તમાંરે તેની ભકિત કરવા તે જગ્યાએ જ જવાનું છે.

તે સમયે તમાંરા દેવ યહોવા તેમની પોતાની સેવા માંટે એક જગ્યાની પસંદગી કરશે ત્યાં હું આજ્ઞા કરું છું તે બધું તમાંરે લાવવું; તમાંરી ઊપજનો દશમો ભાગ,યજ્ઞો તેમજ તમાંરાં બધાં દહનાર્પણ તથા અન્ય અર્પણો તે જ જગ્યાએ ચડાવવાં. બાધા તરીકે ચઢાવવાની ખાસ ભેટો તમાંરે સાથે લાવવી.

Deuteronomy 12:20
“જયારે તમાંરા દેવ યહોવા પોતે વચન આપ્યા મુજબ તમાંરો વિસ્તાર વધારે ત્યારે તમને જો માંસ ખાવાની ઈચ્છા થાય તો ખાવું હોય એટલું ખાવાની છૂટ છે.

“દેવ સમક્ષ લીધેલી પ્રતિજ્ઞા પૂર્ણ કરવા માંટેનાં અર્પણો તથા દાન યહોવાએ પસંદ કરેલા સ્થાનમાં જ લઈ જવાં.
