જયારે યરૂશાલેમના રાજા અદોની સદેકે સાંભળ્યું કે, યહોશુઆએ આયનગર કબજે કર્યુ છે અને તેણે જેમ યરીખોનો અને તેના રાજાનો નાશ કર્યો હતો તેમ આયનગરનો અને તેના રાજાનો પણ નાશ કર્યો છે, અને ગિબયોનની પ્રજાએ ઇસ્રાએલ સાથે શાંતિકરાર કરીને તેમની સાથે રહેવા માંડયું છે.
