Jeremiah 22:8
“તારાજ થયેલા આ નગરની પાસેથી પસાર થતાં, ઘણી પ્રજાઓના લોકો એકબીજાને કહેશે, ‘યહોવાએ શા માટે આ નગરનાં આવા હાલ કર્યા? શા માટે તેમણે આવા મહાન નગરનો વિનાશ કર્યો?’

| city, | הַזֹּ֑את | hazzōt | ha-ZOTE |
| and they shall say | וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ | wĕʾāmĕrû | veh-ah-meh-ROO |
| every man | אִ֣ישׁ | ʾîš | eesh |
| to | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| his neighbour, | רֵעֵ֔הוּ | rēʿēhû | ray-A-hoo |
| Wherefore | עַל | ʿal | al |
| מֶ֨ה | me | meh | |
| Lord the hath | עָשָׂ֤ה | ʿāśâ | ah-SA |
| done | יְהוָה֙ | yĕhwāh | yeh-VA |
| thus | כָּ֔כָה | kākâ | KA-ha |
| unto this | לָעִ֥יר | lāʿîr | la-EER |
