Isaiah 23:4
તમે જરા શરમાઓ, હે સિદોનનગરી હતાશ સાગરકાંઠાનો દુર્ગ થઇને પોકારી ઊઠે છે કે,“હું એવી સ્રી જેવી છું કે, જેણે ક્યારેય બાળકને જન્મ આપ્યો નથી અને જેણે છોકરાઓ મોટા કર્યા નથી કે છોકરીઓને ઉછેરી નથી.”

| not, | חַ֣לְתִּי | ḥaltî | HAHL-tee |
| nor | וְלֹֽא | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| bring forth children, | יָלַ֗דְתִּי | yāladtî | ya-LAHD-tee |
| neither | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| up nourish I do | גִדַּ֛לְתִּי | giddaltî | ɡee-DAHL-tee |
| young men, | בַּחוּרִ֖ים | baḥûrîm | ba-hoo-REEM |
| nor bring up | רוֹמַ֥מְתִּי | rômamtî | roh-MAHM-tee |
