Hosea 4:14
જ્યારે તમારી પુત્રીઓ જાતીય પાપો કરશે, અને તમારી પુત્રવધૂઓ અનૈતિક કર્મ કરશે ત્યારે હું તેઓને શિક્ષા કરીશ નહિ કારણ, પુરુષો પોતે જ વારાંગનાઓ સાથે નિષિદ્ધ વ્યવહાર રાખે છે અને વારાંગનાઓની સંગતમાં મંદિરમાં યજ્ઞો ચઢાવે છે. આ રીતે જે લોકોને સમજણ નથી તેઓ પોતાનો વિનાશ કરી રહ્યાં છે.

I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

Hosea 14:9
સમજુ ડાહ્યો હોય તે આ બાબતોને સમજે, બુદ્ધિશાળી વ્યકિત તે સાંભળે, જેનામાં સમજણ હોય તે, એનો અર્થ હૈયામાં રાખે, કારણકે યહોવાના રસ્તાઓ સત્ય અને ન્યાયી છે, અને સારો માણસ તેના ઉપર ચાલે છે, પણ પાપી માણસો ઠોકર ખાઇને પછડાય છે.
