ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 4

1 મારા ઉમદા દેવ, હું જ્યારે પ્રાર્થના કરું ત્યારે, મને ઉત્તર આપજો, મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળીને તમારી કૃપા વરસાવજો, મને મારી મુશ્કેલીઓમાં રાહત આપજો.

2 હે મનુષ્યો, કયાં સુધી મારા માટે ખરાબ બોલશો? ક્યાં સુધી મને કહેવા માટે નવા જૂઠાણાં શોધશો? તમે તો તે જૂઠાણાં કહેવાનું ચાહો છો.

3 તમારે જાણવું જોઇએ કે યહોવા તેમના વિશ્વાસુ અનુગામીને સાંભળે છે. તેથી હું હાંક મારીશ ત્યારે યહોવા જરૂર મને સાંભળશે.

4 તમે ગુસ્સે થયા હશો પણ પાપતો કરશોજ નહિ, જ્યારે તમે પથારીમાં સૂવા જાવ ત્યારે તમારાં હૃદયમાં ઉંડે સુધી વિચાર કરો અને શાંત થઇ જાવ.

5 યહોવાને ઉમદા અને યોગ્ય અર્પણો ચઢાવો , અને યહોવા પર ભરોસો રાખો.

6 એવું પુછનાર તો ધણા છે, “અમને દેવની સુંદરતા કોણ બતાવશે? હે યહોવા, તમારા ચમકતા ચહેરાનો પ્રકાશ અમને બતાવો!”

7 હે યહોવા, ઋતુંનો પાક જોઈ લોકો પ્રસન્નતા પામે છે. પરંતુ તે કરતાં અધિક પ્રસન્નતા તમે મારા હૃદયમાં મૂકી છે.

8 હું સૂઇ જઇશ ને શાંતિથી ઉંઘી પણ જઇશ, કારણ; હે યહોવા, તમે જ એક મને સુરક્ષાથી સુવા દો છો.

2 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

3 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

4 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

5 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

6 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

7 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

8 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

9 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
