Luke 23:26
ઈસુને મારી નાખવા સૈનિકો દૂર લઈ જતા હતા. તે જ સમયે સીમમાંથી એક માણસ શહેરમાં આવતો હતો. તેનું નામ સિમોન હતું. સિમોન, કુરેની શહેરનો હતો. સૈનિકોએ સિમોનને ઈસુનો વધસ્તંભ તેની ખાંધે ચઢાવીને ઈસુની પાછળ ચાલવા ફરજ પાડી.

પરંતુ કેટલાક યહૂદિઓ આવ્યા અને સ્તેફનની સાથે દલીલો કરી. આ યહૂદિઓ સભામાંના હતા. તે સભા લિબર્તીની માટેની હતી. (આ સભા કુરેનીના યહૂદિઓ માટેની તથા આલેકસાંદ્રિયાના યહૂદિઓ માટેની હતી.) કિલીકિયા અને આસિયાના યહૂદિઓ તેઓની સાથે હતા. તેઓ બધાએ આવીને સ્તેફન સાથે દલીલો કરી.
પ્રેરિતોનાં ક્રત્યો 13:1
અંત્યોખમાં જે મંડળી હતી, તેમાં કેટલાક પ્રબોધકો અને ઉપદેશકો હતા. એટલે બાર્નાબાસ, શિમયોન (જે નિગર તરીકે ઓળખાતો હતો તે), લૂકિયસ (કુરેનીનો), મનાહેમ (જે હેરોદ રાજા સાથે ઉછરીને મોટા થયો હતો) તથા શાઉલ હતા.
