ત્રીજી વખત પિલાતે લોકોને કહ્યું કે, “શા માટે? તેણે શું ખોટું કર્યુ છે? તે દોષિત નથી. તેને મારી નાખવાનું કોઈ કારણ મને દેખાતું નથી. તેથી હું તેને થોડીક સજા કરીને પછી છોડી દઇશ.”
