યહોશુઆ તથા તેમના આગેવાનોએ વસ્ત્રો ફાડી નાખ્યાં અને માંથાઁ પર ધૂળ નાખ્યો, અને સાંજ સુધી મોઢું જમીન પર રાખી યહોવાના પવિત્રકોશ સમક્ષ પડી રહ્યાં.
