બીજા સૈનિકો અફેકના નગરમાં ભાગી ગયા પરંતુ તેઓ જેવા દાખલ થયા નગરની દીવાલ તૂટી ગઇ, જેમાં તેઓમાંનાં 27,000 માંર્યા ગયા. બેન-હદાદે ભાગી જઈને શહેરમાં એક અંદરના હિસ્સામાં આશ્રય લીધો હતો.
