“તેનો પોતાનો વિચાર તો જુદો જ છે, તેના મનમાં જુદી જ યોજના છે. વિનાશ કરવાનો જ તેનો વિચાર છે, અનેક પ્રજાઓનો સંહાર કરવાનો તેનો નિર્ધાર છે.

પરંતુ સાવધ રહેજો! હિઝિક્યા તો તમને કદાચ એમ કહીને ગેરમાગેર્ દોરે છે કે, ‘યહોવા આપણું રક્ષણ કરશે.’ બીજી પ્રજાના દેવે મારા હાથમાંથી એના દેશને બચાવ્યો છે ખરો?
યશાયા 37:11
આશ્શૂરના રાજાઓ જ્યાં ગયા છે તેના પરિણામો શું આવ્યા છે તે તું યાદ રાખ. કારણ કે તેઓનો વિરોધ કરનાર દરેકનો તેઓએ પૂરેપૂરો વિનાશ કરી નાખ્યો છે. શું તું માને છે કે તું છટકી જઇશ, જ્યારે તેઓ તેમ ન કરી શક્યા?

યરૂશાલેમમાં રહેતા યહૂદિઓ અને યહૂદિ અધિકારીઓ ઈસુ તારનાર હતો તેનો અનુભવ કરતા નથી. પ્રબોધકોએ ઈસુ વિષે જે વચન કહ્યા છે તે પ્રત્યેક વિશ્રામવારે યહૂદિઓ સમક્ષ વાંચવામાં આવતા હતાં. પણ તેઓ સમજતા નહોતા. યહૂદિઓએ ઈસુનો તિરસ્કાર કર્યો, આ રીતે તેઓએ પ્રબોધકોના શબ્દોને સાચા બનાવ્યા!
