અયૂબ 12
1 ત્યારે અયૂબે ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે,
2 “હા, તમે જ પ્રજાના ડહાપણનો ભંડાર છો; તમારા મૃત્યુની સાથે ડહાપણ પણ મરી પરવારશે!
3 પરંતુ તમારી જેમ મને પણ ડહાપણ અને અક્કલ છે; અને હું તમારા કરતાં ઊતરતો નથી; હા, એ બધું કોણ નથી જાણતું?
4 ‘એક દિવસ દેવ મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળતા હતા;’ પણ હવે તો મારા મિત્રો પણ મારી પર હસે છે, હું ખરેખર સાચો છું અને નિદોર્ષ છું છતાં તેઓ હસે છે.
5 જે લોકોને મુશ્કેલીઓ નથી, તેઓ જે લોકોને મુશ્કેલીઓ છે તેમનો તિરસ્કાર કરે છે. સ્થિર માણસ જેના પગ લથડી રહ્યાં છે તેને છેતરે છે.
6 ચોર ડાકુઓના ઘર આબાદ થાય છે. તેઓ સુખથી જીવે છે અને દેવને પડકારનારાઓ સુરક્ષિત હોય છે; તેઓની તાકાત તે જ તેમનો દેવ છે.
7 પરંતુ પશુઓને તમે પૂછો તો તે તમને શીખવશે, જો પક્ષીઓને પૂછો તો તે તમને કહેશે.
8 અથવા પૃથ્વીને પૂછો, તે તમને શીખવશે; સમુદ્રમાંની માછલીઓને પૂછો તો તે તમને માહિતી આપશે.
9 દરેક વ્યકિત જાણે છે કે આ સર્વનું યહોવાએ સર્જન કર્યું છે.
10 બધાંજ જીવો તથા મનુષ્યનો આત્મા પણ દેવના જ હાથમાં છે.
11 જેમ મારું મુખ સારા ભોજનનો સ્વાદ પારખે છે તે જ રીતે જ્યારે હું સાંભળું છું ત્યારે મારું મન સત્યની પરખ કરે છે.
12 અમે કહીયે છીએ, ‘વૃદ્ધ પુરૂષોમાં ડહાપણ હોય છે, અને પાકી વયમાં સમજણ હોય છે.’
13 પરંતુ ખરું ડહાપણ અને સાર્મથ્ય તો દેવનાં જ છે. સમજ અને સત્તા તો તેની પાસે જ છે.
14 તે મહા પરાક્રમી છે. તે જે કાંઇ ફાડી નાખે છે તે ફરીથી બાંધી શકાતું નથી. જ્યારે તે માણસને કેદ કરે છે, ત્યારે કોઇ તેને છોડાવી શકતું નથી.
15 જ્યારે તે વરસાદને અટકાવે છે, એટલે જમીન સૂકાઇ જાય છે અને જ્યારે તે વરસાદને છોડી દે છે, ત્યારે પાણી પૃથ્વી પર ફરી વળે છે.
16 દેવ સર્વસમર્થ છે અને હંમેશા જીતે છે. છેતરનારા અને છેતરાયેલાં બંને તેનાં હાથમાં જ છે.
17 તે રાજમંત્રીઓની બુદ્ધિ લૂંટી લે છે અને ન્યાયકર્તાઓને મૂર્ખા બનાવે છે.
18 રાજાઓ ભલે લોકોને કેદમાં પૂરે, પણ દેવ તે લોકોને મુકત કરે છે, અને તેમને શકિતશાળી બનાવે છે.
19 તે દેવ યાજકો પાસેથી તેમની સત્તા આંચકી લે છે સરકારી અધિકારીઓને તેમની નોકરીમાંથી કાઢી મુકે છે.
20 વિશ્વાસપાત્ર સલાહકારોને એ ચૂપ કરે છે, અને વડીલોનું શાણપણ પણ છીનવી લે છે.
21 દેવ રાજાઓ ઉપર તિરસ્કાર કરે છે. તે શકિતશાળીઓની સત્તા આંચકી લે છે.
22 દેવ ગુપ્તમાં ગુપ્ત રહસ્ય પણ પ્રગટ કરે છે, તે મૃત્યુ જેવી કાળી જગ્યાએ પણ પ્રકાશ પહોચાડે છે.
23 તે રાષ્ટને મોટું બનાવે છે પછી તેના લોકોને વિખેરી નાખે છે.
24 તે પૃથ્વીના લોકોના આગેવાનોની સમજશકિત હણી લે છે અને તેઓને દિશા-વિહોણા અરણ્યમાં રખડતાં હોય તેવા,
25 ઘોર અંધકારમાં અથડાતાં અને છાકટા માણસની જેમ લથડતાં તેઓને કરી મૂકે છે.”

2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.
17 He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
19 He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.
24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
25 They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
Job 12 in Tamil and English
1 ત્યારે અયૂબે ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે,
And Job answered and said,
2 “હા, તમે જ પ્રજાના ડહાપણનો ભંડાર છો; તમારા મૃત્યુની સાથે ડહાપણ પણ મરી પરવારશે!
No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
3 પરંતુ તમારી જેમ મને પણ ડહાપણ અને અક્કલ છે; અને હું તમારા કરતાં ઊતરતો નથી; હા, એ બધું કોણ નથી જાણતું?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
4 ‘એક દિવસ દેવ મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળતા હતા;’ પણ હવે તો મારા મિત્રો પણ મારી પર હસે છે, હું ખરેખર સાચો છું અને નિદોર્ષ છું છતાં તેઓ હસે છે.
I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
5 જે લોકોને મુશ્કેલીઓ નથી, તેઓ જે લોકોને મુશ્કેલીઓ છે તેમનો તિરસ્કાર કરે છે. સ્થિર માણસ જેના પગ લથડી રહ્યાં છે તેને છેતરે છે.
He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
6 ચોર ડાકુઓના ઘર આબાદ થાય છે. તેઓ સુખથી જીવે છે અને દેવને પડકારનારાઓ સુરક્ષિત હોય છે; તેઓની તાકાત તે જ તેમનો દેવ છે.
The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
7 પરંતુ પશુઓને તમે પૂછો તો તે તમને શીખવશે, જો પક્ષીઓને પૂછો તો તે તમને કહેશે.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
8 અથવા પૃથ્વીને પૂછો, તે તમને શીખવશે; સમુદ્રમાંની માછલીઓને પૂછો તો તે તમને માહિતી આપશે.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
9 દરેક વ્યકિત જાણે છે કે આ સર્વનું યહોવાએ સર્જન કર્યું છે.
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
10 બધાંજ જીવો તથા મનુષ્યનો આત્મા પણ દેવના જ હાથમાં છે.
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
11 જેમ મારું મુખ સારા ભોજનનો સ્વાદ પારખે છે તે જ રીતે જ્યારે હું સાંભળું છું ત્યારે મારું મન સત્યની પરખ કરે છે.
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
12 અમે કહીયે છીએ, ‘વૃદ્ધ પુરૂષોમાં ડહાપણ હોય છે, અને પાકી વયમાં સમજણ હોય છે.’
With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
13 પરંતુ ખરું ડહાપણ અને સાર્મથ્ય તો દેવનાં જ છે. સમજ અને સત્તા તો તેની પાસે જ છે.
With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

15 જ્યારે તે વરસાદને અટકાવે છે, એટલે જમીન સૂકાઇ જાય છે અને જ્યારે તે વરસાદને છોડી દે છે, ત્યારે પાણી પૃથ્વી પર ફરી વળે છે.
Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
16 દેવ સર્વસમર્થ છે અને હંમેશા જીતે છે. છેતરનારા અને છેતરાયેલાં બંને તેનાં હાથમાં જ છે.
With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.
17 તે રાજમંત્રીઓની બુદ્ધિ લૂંટી લે છે અને ન્યાયકર્તાઓને મૂર્ખા બનાવે છે.
He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
18 રાજાઓ ભલે લોકોને કેદમાં પૂરે, પણ દેવ તે લોકોને મુકત કરે છે, અને તેમને શકિતશાળી બનાવે છે.
He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
19 તે દેવ યાજકો પાસેથી તેમની સત્તા આંચકી લે છે સરકારી અધિકારીઓને તેમની નોકરીમાંથી કાઢી મુકે છે.

22 દેવ ગુપ્તમાં ગુપ્ત રહસ્ય પણ પ્રગટ કરે છે, તે મૃત્યુ જેવી કાળી જગ્યાએ પણ પ્રકાશ પહોચાડે છે.

23 તે રાષ્ટને મોટું બનાવે છે પછી તેના લોકોને વિખેરી નાખે છે.
