Hosea 7:9
વિદેશીઓના દેવોની સેવા કરવાથી તેઓનું સાર્મથ્ય હણાઇ જાય છે. છતાં તેની ખબર એમને પડતી નથી. તેમના માથાના વાળ સફેદ થયા છે, પણ તે જાણતો નથી કે, તેઓ કેટલા નબળા અને ઘરડા થઇ ગયા છે.

“તમારો દેશ ઉજ્જડ થઇ ગયો છે, તમારાં નગરો આગમાં ભસ્મ થઇ ગયાં છે; તમારી નજર આગળ પરદેશીઓ તમને લૂંટે છે, અને તેઓની નજરે જે પડે છે તેનો નાશ કરે છે.
યશાયા 42:22
તેમ છતાં એ પ્રજા એવી નીકળી કે લૂંટાઇ ગઇ, એનું બધું હરાઇ ગયું; એ બધા ફસાઇ ગયા છે અને કારાગારમાં પૂરાયા છે, તેમને છોડાવનાર કોઇ નથી, તેઓ લૂંટાઇ ગયા છે “છતાં પાછું આપો” કહેનાર પણ કોઇ નથી.
યશાયા 57:1
સારા માણસો મરી જાય છે, પણ કોઇ વિચાર કરતું નથી; ધમિર્ષ્ઠ માણસો પોતાના સમય અગાઉ મૃત્યુ પામે છે. શા માટે આવું બને છે તે કોઇ સમજતું નથી. ભૂંડા દિવસો અને આફતમાંથી ઉગારવા માટે દેવ તેઓને ઉપાડી લે છે તે તેઓ સમજતા નથી.
