Genesis 26:1
એ દેશમાં પહેલાં ઇબ્રાહિમના સમયમાં દુકાળ પડયો હતો, તે સિવાય આ બીજો દુકાળ પડયો. તેથી ઇસહાક ગેરાર નગરના પલિસ્તીઓના રાજા અબીમેલેખ પાસે ગયો.

ઇબ્રાહિમના મૃત્યુ પછી દેવે તેના પુત્ર ઇસહાક પર આશીર્વાદો વરસાવ્યા અને તે બેર-લહાય-રોઇ રહેવા લાગ્યો.
