જો, હોરેબ પર્વતના એક ખડક ઉપર હું તારી સામે ઊભો રહીશ, પછી તું તે ખડક ઉપર પ્રહાર કરજે, એટલે તે ખડકમાંથી પાણી નીકળશે, જેથી લોકોને પીવા પાણી મળશે.”ઇસ્રાએલીઓના વડીલોના દેખતાં મૂસાએ તે મુજબ કર્યુ.
