વહેલી સવારમાં મુખ્ય યાજકો, વડીલ યહૂદી આગેવાનો, શાસ્ત્રીઓ અને યહૂદિઓની આખી ન્યાયસભાએ ઈસુનું શું કરવું તે અંગે નિર્ણય કર્યો. તેઓએ ઈસુને પિલાતને સોંપ્યો.

પછી યહૂદિઓ ઈસુને કાયાફાના મકાનમાંથી રોમન હાકેમના દરબારમાં લઈ જાય છે. તે વહેલી સવારનો સમય હતો. યહૂદિઓ દરબારની અંદર જઈ શક્યા નહિ. તેઓ તેમની જાતને અશુદ્ધબનાવવા ઈચ્છતા નહોતા. કારણ કે તેઓ પાસ્ખાપર્વનું ભોજન ખાવા ઈચ્છતા હતા.
Luke 23:1
પછી આખો સમૂહ ઊભો થયો અને પિલાત પાસે ઈસુને લઈ ગયો. તેઓ ઈસુની વિરૂદ્ધ તહોમત મૂકવા લાગ્યા.

પણ હું તમને કહું છું કે, બીજા ઉપર ક્રોધીત ના થાવ, દરેક તમારો ભાઈ છે. જો તમે બીજા કોઈ ઉપર ક્રોધ કરશો તો તમારો ન્યાય ન્યાયસભામાં થશે. બીજી કોઈ વ્યક્તિ સાથે બીજા માટે ખરાબ બોલશે તો તમારો યહૂદીના દરબારમાં ન્યાય થશે. જો તમે બીજાને મૂર્ખ કહેશો તો તમારે નરકની આગના ભયમાં મૂકાવું પડશે.
