Luke 9:45
પણ શિષ્યો ઈસુના કહેવાનો અર્થ સમજી શક્યા નહિ. તેનો અર્થ તેનાથી ગુપ્ત રખાયો જેથી તેઓ તે સમજી શક્યા નહિ. પણ શિષ્યો ઈસુએ જે કહ્યું હતું તે વિષે પૂછતાં ડરતા હતા.

પરંતુ તેઓના માનસપટ બંધ હતાં-તેઓ સમજી શક્યા નહિ. આજે પણ જ્યારે તેઓ જૂના કરારનું વાંચન કરે છે ત્યારે એ જ આવરણ અર્થને ઢાંકી દે છે. તે આવરણ હજુ પણ દૂર કરાયુ નથી. તે માત્ર ખ્રિસ્ત દ્વારા દૂર કરાય છે.

ઈસુના શિષ્યોમાં વાદવિવાદ શરું થયો કે તેમનામાંનો કોણ સૌથી વધારે મહત્વનો છે.
