“પણ જો કોઈ પ્રબોધક ખોટો દાવો કરશે કે મેં તેને કઇ સંદેશો આપ્યો છે, તો તેને માંરી નાખવો અને અન્ય દેવો તરફથી તેને સંદેશો મળ્યો છે એમ કોઇ પ્રબોધક કહે તેને માંરી જ નાખવો.

“તમાંરા કોઈ પ્રબોધક કે સ્વપ્નદૃષ્ટા તમાંરી પાસે આવશે અને કોઈ અદૃભુત ઘટના કે ચમત્કારની આગાહી કરીને તમે કદીયે પૂજયા ના હોય એવા પારકા દેવોની પૂજા કરવાનું કહેવાનો દાવો કરનાર છે.
Zechariah 13:3
એ પછી જો કોઇ પ્રબોધકની જેમ વર્તશે તો તેને જન્મ આપનારા તેના માબાપ તેને કહેશે કે, તને જીવવાનો અધિકાર નથી, કારણ, ‘તું યહોવાને નામે જૂઠું બોલે છે.’ અને પ્રબોધક તરીકે વર્તવા માટે તેને જન્મ આપનારા તેના માબાપ જ તેને વીંધી નાખશે.

પરંતુ આ ખોટા ઉપદેશકો તો જે નથી સમજી શક્યાં તેના માટે પણ નિંદા કરે છે. આ ઉપદેશકો પશુઓ સમાન છે કે જે વિચાર્યા વગર કાર્ય કરે છે. જંગલી પશુઓની જેમ તેઓ તો ઝડપાવા તથા નાશ પામવા જ જન્મેલા છે. અને જંગલી જાનવરોની જેમ, આ ખોટા ઉપદેશકોનો વિનાશ થશે.

“જૂઠા પ્રબોધકોથી સાવધાન રહો. તેઓ તમારી પાસે ઘેટાંના વેશમાં આવે છે. પણ તેઓ વરુંઓ જેવા ભયંકર હોય છે.

ત્યારે યહોવાએ કહ્યું, “પ્રબોધકો મારે નામે જૂઠાણું ચલાવે છે. મેં એમને મોકલ્યા નથી, મેં એમને કોઇ આજ્ઞા આપી નથી. તે પ્રબોધકો તમને ખોટાં સંદર્શનો, નકામી આગાહીઓ અને પોતાનાં ભ્રામક દિવ્યસ્વપ્નો સંભળાવે છે.

યાજકોએ કદી પૂછયું નથી કે, ‘યહોવા ક્યાં છે?’ શાસ્ત્રના જાણકારોએ મને ઓળખ્યો નથી, લોકોના આગેવાનોએ મારી સામે બળવો કર્યો છે. પ્રબોધકોએ બઆલદેવની આરાધના કરી અને નકાંમા દેવોને ભજવામાં સમય બગાડ્યો.”

એલિયાએ કહ્યું, “બઆલના પ્રબોધકોને પકડી લો, જોજો, એક પણ છટકી ન જાય.” લોકોએ તેમને પકડી લીધા અને એલિયા તેમને કીશોન નદીને કાંઠે લઇ ગયા અને તેઓ સર્વને ત્યાં માંરી નાખ્યાં.

આમને આમ બપોર થઈ ગઇ એટલે એલિયાએ તેમની મશ્કરી કરવા માંડી, તે બોલ્યો, “હજી મોટા સાદે બૂમો પાડો, તેઓ દેવ છે; એ વિચારમાં ઊંડા ડૂબી ગયા હશે, અથવા કંઈ કામમાં ગૂંથાયા હશે કે, પ્રવાસે ગયા હશે, કદાચ ઊંઘી પણ ગયા હોય તો જગાડવા પડે ને?”
