દાઉદ રણની અંદર કિલ્લામાં રહેતો. પદ્ધી તે તેના માણસો સાથે પર્વતોમાં ઝીફ રણમાં સંતાઇ ગયો. શાઉલ હમેશા તેઓને શોધતો હતો. પરંતુ દેવે શાઉલને દાઉદને પઢડવા ન દીધો.
