યહોશાફાટ મૃત્યુ પામ્યો પછી તેના મૃતદેહને દાઉદના નગરમાં લઇ જવાયો અને યરૂશાલેમમાં દફનાવવામાં આવ્યો, તેના પછી તેનો પુત્ર યહોરામ રાજા બન્યો.
