આખરે પ્રબોધકોએ જે ભવિષ્યકથન કર્યું હતું તે બધું જ બન્યું. એટલે સુધી કે યહોવાએ તેઓને પોતાની નજર આગળથી દૂર કર્યા. ઇસ્રાએલીઓને તેમનું વતન છોડવું પડ્યું અને તેમને આશ્શૂર જવા માટે વિદાય કરવામાં આવ્યા, અને આજે પણ તેઓ ત્યાં જ છે.

તેથી યહોવાએ બધા ઇસ્રાએલીઓનો ત્યાગ કર્યો, તેમને સજા કરી, અને તેમને ધાડપાડુઓને સોંપી દીધા અને છેલ્લે તેમને પોતાની નજર આગળથી દૂર કર્યા.

આ બધાને કારણે યહોવાનો રોષ ઇસ્રાએલ સામે ભભૂકી ઊઠયો અને તેણે તેમને પોતાની નજર આગળથી દૂર કર્યા. ફકત યહૂદાનું કુળસમૂહ રહ્યું.
