2 Kings 17:15
તેમણે યહોવાના હુકમોની, તેમના પિતૃઓએ કરેલા કરારની અવગણના કરી તેમજ તેણે તેમને આપેલી ચેતવણીઓની કાળજી ન કરી. તેઓએ નકામી મૂર્તિઓની પૂજા કરી. આસપાસની પ્રજાઓનું અનુકરણ કર્યુ જેમના વિષે યહોવાએ તેમને ન કરવાની આજ્ઞા આપી હતી.

આમ, દેવ વિષે સઘળું જાણ્યા પછી પણ તેઓએ દેવને મહિમા આપ્યો નહિ અને તેનો આભાર માન્યો નહિ. લોકોના વિચારોનું અધ:પતન થયું. તેમના મૂર્ખ મનમાં પાપરુંપી અંધકાર છવાઈ ગયો.

નકામી છે, હાંસીપાત્ર છે. દેવ તેમને સજા કરશે ત્યારે તેઓ નેસ્તનાબૂદ થઇ જશે.

મૂર્તિઓની પૂજા કરનારા બન્ને અક્કલ વગરના અને મૂર્ખ છે. તેઓ મૂર્તિઓ પાસેથી શિખામણ મેળવે છે જે માત્ર લાકડાનાં ટુકડા છે.

જેઓ તેમને બનાવશે, અને તેઓ પર વિશ્વાસ કરશે તેઓ બધાં જલ્દી તેમના જેવા થશે.

તેઓ યહોવાએ હાંકી કાઢેલી પ્રજાના રિવાજો તથા ઇસ્રાએલના રાજાઓએ શરું કરેલા રિવાજો અનુસરવા લાગ્યા.

અને યહોવાએ જેમને હાંકી કાઢયા હતાં, તે લોકોની જેમ ઉચ્ચસ્થાનકો પર દહનાર્પણ અને આહવાહન કરવા લાગ્યા.તેમની આ વર્તણૂકથી યહોવાનો રોષ ભભૂકી ઊઠયો.
2 Chronicles 33:2
ઇસ્રાએલીઓને ખાતર યહોવાએ જે પ્રજાઓને હાંકી કાઢી હતી તે પ્રજાઓના ધૃણાજનક આચારોનું અનુસરણ કરી તેણે યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ અયોગ્ય ગણાય એવું આચરણ કર્યુ.
2 Chronicles 33:9
પરંતુ મનાશ્શાએ યહૂદાના અને યરૂશાલેમનાં વતનીઓને ગેરમાગેર્ દોર્યા, જેથી તેમણે યહોવાએ ઇસ્રાએલીઓને ખાતર જે પ્રજાઓનું નિકંદન કાઢયું હતું તેમના કરતાં પણ ભૂંડા કાર્યો કર્યા.

તેઓના પિતૃઓના દેવ યહોવાએ વારંવાર પોતાના પ્રબોધકો મોકલીને તેઓને ચેતવણી આપી, કારણકે પોતાના લોકો પર અને પોતાના નિવાસ પર તેને દયા આવતી હતી.
