તે સમયે ઉઝિઝયાનો પૌત્ર અને યોથામનો પુત્ર આહાઝ યહૂદામા શાસન કરતો હતો ત્યારે અરામના રાજા રસીને તથા ઇસ્રાએલના રાજા રમાલ્યાના પુત્ર પેકાહ સાથે યરૂશાલેમ ઉપર ચઢાઇ કરી, પણ તેને કબજે ન કરી શક્યો.

એટલે યહોવા પોતે તમને એંધાણી બતાવશે:જુઓ, એક કુમારીને ગર્ભ રહ્યો છે, અને તે એક પુત્રને જન્મ આપશે. અને તેનું નામ ‘ઇમ્માનુએલ’ એટલે કે આપણી સાથે દેવ એવું પડશે.
