શાઉલે પલિસ્તીઓનો પીછો કરવો છોડી દીધો. અને તેઓ પોતાના પ્રદેશમાં પહોંચી ગયા.

પલિસ્તીઓએ જયારે સાંભળ્યું કે ઇસ્રાએલીઓ મિસ્પાહમાં ભેગા થયા છે ત્યારે પલિસ્તી સરદારો ઇસ્રાએલીઓ ઉપર હુમલો કરવા લશ્કર લઈને ઊપડ્યા. આ સમાંચાર સાંભળીને ઇસ્રાએલીઓ ગભરાઇ ગયા.
