હવે હું તારો અને તારા કુટુંબનો ઉચ્છેદ કરી નાખીશ, નબાટના પુત્ર યરોબઆમના કુટુંબનાં મેં જે હાલ કર્યા હતા, તેવા તારા પણ કરીશ.

તે જેવો ગાદીએ આવ્યો કે તરત જ તેણે આસાના સમગ્ર પરિવારને રહેંસી નાખ્યું. તેણે તેના કુટુંબમાંથી તેના ખૂબ દૂરના સગાસંબધી કે મિત્રોનાં એકેય માંણસને તેણે જીવતા રહેવા દીધા નહિ.
