સુલેમાંને રથો અને ઘોડાઓની એક મોટી સેના ઊભી કરી, તેની પાસે 1,400 રથો અને 12,000 ઘોડા હતા. એમાંના કેટલાક એણે ચોક્કસ નિયુકત નગરોમાં રાખ્યા અને બાકીના યરૂશાલેમમાં રાખ્યા.
