দেখা যাক, তোমাদের তৈরী করা মূর্ত্তিরা এসে বিপদ থেকে তোমাদের উদ্ধার করতে পারে কি না? যিহূদা তোমাদের যত শহর, তত দেবতা| দেখি তারা কি ভাবে তোমাদের বিপদ থেকে উদ্ধার করে|

লোকরা মূর্ত্তিকে নিজের কাঁধে তুলে নেয এবং তাকে বহন করে| ঐ মূর্ত্তিটি অরয়োজনীয়- লোককেই বহন করতে হয়| যখন লোকে মূর্ত্তিটিকে মাটিতে প্রতিষ্ঠা করে, সে সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে এবং সে নড়াচড়া করতে পারে না| যদি লোকরা মূর্ত্তির প্রতি চিত্কার করে, সেটি উত্তর দেবে না| এটা লোককে তাদের বিপদ থেকে মুক্ত করতে পারে না|
রাজাবলি ২ 3:13
ইলীশায় ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যিহোরামকে প্রশ্ন করলেন, “আমি আপনার জন্য কি করতে পারি? আপনি কেন আপনার পিতামাতার ভাব্বাদীর কাছেই যাচ্ছেন না?”তখন ইস্রায়েলের রাজা ইলীশায়কে বললেন, “না, আমরা আপনার সঙ্গে দেখা করতে এসেছি, কারণ মোয়াবীয়দের কাছে হেরে যাবার জন্যই প্রভু আমাদের তিন জন রাজাকে এনে একত্রিত করেছেন|”

ইস্রায়েল একটি দ্রাক্ষা গাছের মতো, যা প্রচুর পরিমাণে ফল উত্পন্ন করে| কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল য়তোই বেশী বেশী পরিমাণে জিনিস পেয়েছে, ততোই মূর্ত্তিদের সম্মানার্থে সে আরো বেশী করে বেদী তৈরি করেছে| তাদের দেশ আস্তে আস্তে ভালোর দিকে গেছে, সেজন্য সেও মূর্ত্তিদের সম্মানার্থে দেবার জন্য ভালো ভালো পাথর বসিযেছে|
