অন্যান্য জাতিসমূহের মূর্ত্তিগুলো তরমুজ ক্ষেতে কাকতাড়ুযার মত| ঐ মূর্ত্তিরা কথা বলতে পারে না| তারা নিজের পায়ে হাঁটতে পারে না| তাই লোকরা তাদের কাঁধে করে বয়ে নিয়ে বেড়ায| সুতরাং ঐ মূর্ত্তিদের ভয় পেও না| তারা তোমাদের য়েমন সাহায্য করতে পারবে না, তেমন কোন ক্ষতিও করতে পারবে না|”

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

এটা সেই লোকটির পক্ষে খুবই খারাপ হবে য়ে কাঠের মূর্ত্তিকে বলে, “উঠে পড়ো!” এটা লোকটির পক্ষে খুবই খারাপ হবে য়ে, য়ে পাথর কথা বলতে পারে না তাকে বলে, “জেগে ওঠো!” এসব জিনিস তাকে সাহায্য করতে পারবে না| সেই মূর্ত্তিটি হয়তো সোনা এবং রূপোর দ্বারা আবৃত হতে পারে কিন্তু সেই মূর্ত্তিতে কোন প্রাণ নেই|

Isaiah 46:1
বাবিলের বেল ও নবোর মূর্ত্তি আমার সামনে মাথা নত করবে| এইসব ভ্রান্ত দেবতারা শুধু মাত্র মূর্ত্তি| লোকরা এই মূর্ত্তিগুলি পশুর পিঠে চাপায়-এই মূর্ত্তিগুলি আসলে ভারী বোঝা, বইতে হয় কেবল| মূর্ত্তিরা কিছু করতে না পারলেও মানুষকে ক্লান্ত করে তোলে|

Revelation 13:14
এইভাবে সে প্রথম পশুর সেবার্থে তাকে প্রদত্ত শক্তির বলে অলৌকিক কাজ করে পৃথিবীবাসীদের ঠকাল৷ সে পৃথিবীর লোকদের বলল, ‘য়ে পশু তরবারির আঘাতে আহত হয়েও বেঁচে উঠেছে, তার সম্মানার্থে একঢি মূর্তি গড়৷

কেউ কেউ মূর্ত্তি বানায়| কিন্তু তারা মূল্যহীন| লোকে সেই মূর্ত্তিকে ভালোবাসে| কিন্তু সেইগুলি মূল্যহীন| সেই লোকগুলি মূর্ত্তিগুলির সাক্ষী হলেও তারা দেখতে পায় না| তারা কিছুই জানে না, তারা তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য যথেষ্ট লজ্জিত হতে জানে না|

ওই মূর্ত্তিগুলোর মুখ ছিলো কিন্তু কথা বলতে পারতো না| ওই মূর্ত্তিগুলোর চোখ ছিলো কিন্তু দেখতে পারতো না|
