তারপর তাঁরা সকলকে বললেন, “তোমরা যখন যাজকদের এবং লেবীয়দের প্রভু, তোমাদের ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষ্যসিন্দুক বহন করতে দেখবে তখন তোমরা অবশ্যই তাদের অনুসরণ করবে|

নূনের পুত্র যিহোশূয় সেই মত যাজকদের সকলকে একত্র ডেকে বললেন, “প্রভুর পবিত্র সিন্দুক আপনারা বহন করুন| আপনাদের মধ্যে সাত জনকে শিঙা নিয়ে সিন্দুকের সামনে দিয়ে এগিয়ে য়েতে বলুন|”

Joshua 4:10
প্রভু যিহোশূয়কে লোকদের কি করতে হবে তা জানাতে আদেশ দিলেন| সেগুলো মোশি যিহোশূয়কে পালন করার জন্য বলেছিলেন| তাই পবিত্র সিন্দুক বহনকারী যাজকরা মাঝনদীতে দাঁড়িয়ে রইলেন যতক্ষণ না যিহোশূয় লোকদের নির্দেশ দেওয়া শেষ করলেন| লোকরা দ্রুত নদী পেরোতে লাগল|

যাজকরা সাক্ষ্যসিন্দুক বহন করলেন| লোকরা যেখানে তাঁবু গেড়েছিল সেখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যর্দন নদী পেরোনোর জন্যে রওনা হল|

Joshua 3:6
যিহোশূয় যাজকদের বললেন, “সাক্ষ্যসিন্দুক নিয়ে সকলের সামনে দিয়েই নদী পেরিয়ে যাও|” তারা তাই করল|

Numbers 4:15
“হারোণ এবং তার পুত্ররা পবিত্র স্থানের জিনিসপত্র ঢেকে দেওয়ার কাজ সম্পূর্ণ করবে| এরপর কহাত্‌ পরিবারের লোকরা ভিতরে যেতে পারবে এবং ঐ সব জিনিসপুত্র বহনের কাজ শুরু করবে| এইভাবে তারা পবিত্র স্থান স্পর্শ করবে না এবং তাদের মৃত্যু হবে না|

প্রভু সেই সময় তাদের পথ দেখিয়ে নিয়ে এলেন| সেই যাত্রার সময় প্রভু পথ দেখানোর জন্য দিনের বেলায় লম্বা মেঘ স্তম্ভ এবং রাতের বেলায আগুনের শিখা ব্যবহার করতেন| ঐ আগুনের শিখা রাতের বেলায় তাদের পথ চলার আলো জোগাতো|
