Acts 16:27
কারারক্ষক জেগে উঠে যখন দেখলেন য়ে কারাগারের সব দরজা খোলা তখন তিনি তাঁর তরবারি কোষ থেকে বের করে আত্মহত্যা করতে চাইলেন, কারণ তিনি ভাবলেন বন্দীরা সব পালিয়েছে৷

শৌল তাঁর বর্মবহনকারী ভৃত্যকে বললেন, “আমায় তোমার তরবারি দিয়ে মেরে ফেল| তাহলে বিদেশীরা আর আমায় মেরে মজা করতে পারবে না|” কিন্তু ভৃত্য সে কথা শুনলো না| সে বেশ ভয় পেয়ে গিয়েছিল| তাই শৌল নিজের তরবারি দিয়ে নিজেকে হত্যা করলেন|

সিম্রি যখন বুঝতে পারলেন তির্সা শত্রুপক্ষের দখলে চলে গেছে, তখন তিনি রাজপ্রাসাদে নিজেকে বন্ধ করে প্রাসাদে আগুন লাগিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করলেন|

তখন যিহূদা সেই টাকা মন্দিরের মধ্যে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিল, পরে বাইরে গিয়ে গলায় দড়ি দিয়ে মরল৷
