গিলিয়দের নেতারা য়িপ্তহের কাছে গেল তাকে ফিরে আসার জন্য অনুনয় করতে| তারা যিপ্তহকে টোব ছেড়ে গিলিয়দে ফিরে আসতে বলল|

ভাইদের কথায় যিপ্তহ শহর ছেড়ে চলে গেল| সে টোব দেশে বাস করত| টোবে কিছু শক্তিশালী লোক যিপ্তহকে অনুসরণ করতে লাগল|

অম্মোনীয়রা বুঝলেন য়ে তাঁরা নিজ দোষে নিজেদের দায়ূদের ঘৃণিত শএুতে পরিণত করেছেন| হানূন ও অম্মোনীয়রা তখন 75,000 পাউণ্ড রূপো মূল্যস্বরূপ দিলেন এবং মেসোপটেমিযা, মাখার শহরগুলি ও অরামের সোবা থেকে রথ আর তার জন্য সারথী ভাড়া করে আনলেন|

অরাম, মোযাব, অম্মোন, পলেষ্টীয় এবং অমালেক এইসব জাতিকে দায়ূদ পরাজিত করেছিলেন| এছাড়াও তিনি সোবার রাজা, রহোবের পুত্র হদদেষরকে পরাজিত করেছিলেন|

ইস্রায়েলীয়রা খবরটা শুনল| তারা বলল, “শৌল পলেষ্টীয় নেতাকে হত্যা করেছে| এবার পলেষ্টীয়রা সত্যিই ইস্রায়েলীয়দের ঘৃণা করবে!”ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বলা হল, তারা যেন গিল্গলে শৌলের সঙ্গে য়োগ দেয|

গশূরীয লোকদের এবং মাখাথীয লোকদের সীমানা পর্য়ন্ত সেই অঞ্চল বিস্তৃত ছিল| সেই অঞ্চলটি যাযীর নামে অভিহিত হয়েছিল| সেই কারণে আজও লোকরা বাশনকে যাযীরের শহর বলে|

সুতরাং ইস্রায়েলীয় তত্ত্বাবধায়করা মোশি ও হারোণকে বলল, “আমাদের যাওয়ার ছাড়পত্র চাওযার ব্যাপারে ফরৌণের সঙ্গে কথা বলে তোমরা একটা মারাত্মক ভুল করেছো| প্রভু য়েন তোমাদের শাস্তি দেন| কারণ তোমাদের জন্যই ফরৌণ ও তার শাসকরা আমাদের এখন ঘৃণা করে| তোমরাই তাদের হাতে আমাদের হত্যা করার অজুহাত তুলে দিয়েছ|”
